Gregory A. Fowler is the Founder and Managing Partner of FPA Multifamily, LLC. Mr. Fowler has over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry with approximately $24 billion in total transactions including over 770 apartment communities. Mr. Fowler currently serves on the boards of the San Diego State University's Campanile Foundation, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the National Multifamily Housing Council. He is also a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the Olympic Club of San Francisco. Gregory started his career in multifamily with the investment in a single 4-plex in San Diego. He is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. He also has a Professional Certificate in Real Estate Development from the University of California at San Diego.
With over 26 years of real estate experience, Dan Kaplan is responsible for overseeing acquisition underwriting and oversight, due diligence, financing, dispositions and asset management. Since joining FPA in 2003, he has been involved in excess of $10.0 billion of transactions. Prior, Mr. Kaplan was at RREEF where he coordinated $750 million in transactions. Mr. Kaplan also served as an asset manager for Mansur & Company. Mr. Kaplan received his B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
With over 38 years of experience, Joe Clark is the Chief Financial Officer for FPA. He is responsible for tax compliance, risk management, banking, accounting, budgeting and managing expenses for our corporate entities. Prior, Mr. Clark was a Managing Director with American Express Tax and Business Services in San Diego specializing in real estate taxation and estate tax planning and also served as FPA's long term CPA. Mr. Clark is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, and graduated from the University of San Diego with a B.S. in Business Administration, emphasis in Accounting.
Shelly Sanders is responsible for the accounting, reporting and auditing at FPA. She manages the property accounting department and has over 30 years of experience in real estate accounting. Prior to joining FPA, Ms. Sanders was Vice President, Assistant Controller at RREEF, a real estate investment firm located in Chicago and was also an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration.
Sam Eisenman is the President at FPA. Since joining FPA in 2017, Mr. Eisenman has been focused on property management operations; his focuses ranging from resident experience initiatives to profit improvement measures. Sam's background is in hospitality, with experience in both management and consulting. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Eisenman was a Project Manager Consultant at Post Script Hospitality, overseeing hotel operational efficiency projects throughout the USA. Mr. Eisenman has served in a variety of property management leadership roles within the organization prior to being named President in 2022. Mr. Eisenman graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Hotel Administration.
Hannah oversees the strategies within FPA. Ms. Moriarty joined FPA in 2005 as an Acquisitions Analyst and later moved to the roles of Senior Associate and VP of Asset Management. Ms. Moriarty has diverse property level experience in acquisitions, dispositions, finance and asset management. Ms. Moriarty has a B.S. in Finance with a real estate emphasis from the University of Colorado.
With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Stark is responsible for all construction oversight at FPA, including design, contract negotiations and overall schedule and quality of all projects. Mr. Stark has experience in industrial, commercial, multifamily, residential planned communities, agricultural storage buildings, concrete tilt-ups, metal framing, sheet and block and red iron construction. Prior, Mr. Stark worked with custom homes, land acquisitions, annexations, rezoning and was part of the design team of an international grocery store.
Ken Miles leads the technology group that supports the firm, its subsidiaries, and the technology needs of the individual assets under management. He has been heavily involved in working with vendors, peers, and consultants to evaluate and implement emerging technologies, advancing business processes utilizing the latest technologies to improve front-office business functions, back-office accounting, and property operations. Mr. Miles joined the firm in 1999 as the Director of Information Systems and promoted to Chief Technology officer in 2015. Prior to his 20+ year career with FPA, he worked as various Information Systems leadership positions within Western National Group and California State University, San Bernardino. Mr. Miles holds a B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from ITT technical Institute.
Since joining FPA, Mr. McDonough has been responsible for sourcing and closing over 40 transactions totaling $1.7 billion. Prior, Mr. McDonough was a Captain in the U.S. Army where he served 3 tours in Iraq as an infantry officer. Mr. McDonough graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A. in Economics and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with majors in Finance, Accounting and Real Estate Management.
Ronak Shah is responsible for identifying real estate acquisition opportunities. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Shah was Director of Acquisitions for Texla Housing Partner where he focused on sourcing student housing investment opportunities. Mr. Shah also served as an Asset Manager for CNC Investments and an Analyst for Campus Living Villages where he performed financial analysis, market research, due diligence, prepared budgets and supervised large capital expenditure projects. Mr. Shah graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Economics.
Alex Louden is responsible for the dispositions strategy at FPA. Since 2022, he has facilitated the exit of over 4,000 units representing $875 million in volume. Alex joined FPA as an analyst in 2018 and was actively involved in the acquisition of 75 assets totaling 15,500 units and representing over $3 billion in volume. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Louden was a Senior Research Analyst with Newmark. He received his B.A in International Studies from American University.
Annika Lee is Legal Counsel for FPA and is responsible for the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of FPA's real estate and finance transactions. Prior to joining FPA, she was a real estate attorney at Rutan & Tucker, LLP. She received a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Cassidy Wilshusen serves as the Vice President of Marketing, bringing over a decade of expertise to her role. Since 2013, Cassidy has been instrumental in overseeing system administration, driving project innovation, and spearheading comprehensive promotional strategies within the Marketing Department. Her leadership extends across digital marketing channels, where she collaboratively implements and optimizes campaigns to elevate portfolio visibility and enhance engagement. Mrs. Wilshusen holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in American Sign Language and International Business. Outside of her professional endeavors, Cassidy enjoys exploring new technologies and trends, further enriching her ability to deliver impactful results in a dynamic and competitive industry.
Dana is responsible for sourcing and identifying assets. Since 2011, he has been responsible for closing over 10,000 units totaling over $1.3 billion in total capitalization and resulting in over $1.4 billion in dispositions to date. Prior to joining FPA in 2007, Mr. Aschbacher co-founded Aschbacher & Frager Commercial Real Estate, a boutique brokerage firm specializing in sales of mid-market multifamily assets and syndications. Mr. Aschbacher began his career as multifamily broker with CB Richard Ellis | CBRE in the Portland, Oregon office and received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Oregon.
Sayer Sweeney is responsible for researching and underwriting acquisition opportunities and helping to oversee the due diligence, closing and financing processes. Since joining FPA, he has been involved in more than 225 acquisitions representing over $7 billion in volume. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Sweeney traded fixed income securities for the Proprietary Trading Group at Breakwater Capital, LLC. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
Aaron Chan is responsible for asset management including implementation of property business plans, capital improvement strategies, financing, evaluating financial performance and assisting with investor reporting. Since joining FPA in 2007, Mr. Chan has been involved with underwriting, due diligence, financing, and asset management for the portfolio. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Chan was an Analyst for Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc., where he was actively involved in identifying and acquiring hotel properties in major U.S. cities. Mr. Chan received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
Nicole O’Lawrence is responsible for developing and implementing an ESG program in alignment with FPA’s ESG mission. Mrs. O’Lawrence joined the firm in 2018 as a Project Coordinator for the Redwood Construction team. She later joined the ESG department in the ESG Specialist and ESG Program Manager roles. Mrs. O’Lawrence previously worked for Allergan as an Account Coordinator in the advertising division. She graduated San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
Mr. Kim joined FPA in 2015 as the Director of Capital Markets. In this role, he is responsible for the relationship management efforts with the firm's existing and prospective investors on FPA's real estate initiatives. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Kim was with Courtland Partners where he oversaw some of firm's largest clients' real estate portfolios. He was also worked as an affiliate of Wells Fargo Bank, where he assisted with raising, retaining and managing high net worth clients. Mr. Kim received a B.A. in Economics from University of California, San Diego and has earned the right to use the CFA designation. He is a member of CFA Society Los Angeles.
Quentin Tedesco is responsible for identifying real estate acquisition opportunities in South Dakota, New York (Upstate), Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Mr. Tedesco joined FPA in 2018 as an analyst assisting in underwriting acquisitions, securing financing, due diligence and asset management. Mr. Tedesco received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Chris Gentry is responsible for identifying real estate acquisition opportunities. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Gentry was a Director of Multifamily Investment Sales for Berkadia, where he was responsible for overseeing and expanding the investment sales platform throughout Kentucky. Mr. Gentry has been involved in the sale of over 6,000 units totaling nearly $450 million in transaction volume since 2015. Mr. Gentry graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Business Management.
Daniel Lowenstein is responsible for portfolio management and business plan oversight of over 10,000 units in FPA's Midwest portfolio. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Lowenstein was Director of Asset Management for Albion Residential, where he focused on the business plan execution for the multifamily portfolio across the Midwest region. Mr. Lowenstein graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Marketing and Management.
Jack Simonis is responsible for portfolio management and business plan oversight of FPA's Mid-Atlantic portfolio. Throughout his career, Mr. Simonis has played an integral role in over $500 million in commercial real estate acquisitions. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Simonis served as Director of Investment Services for Inland Pacific Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Simonis began his career as an acquisitions analyst at Fairfield Residential after graduating from University of San Diego with a B.A. in Accounting with a Focus on Finance & Real Estate.
Matthew Kim is responsible for portfolio management and business plan oversight of FPA's Minnesota portfolio. Mr. Kim supports the Acquisitions team in due diligence, closing and financing processes. Matthew has been actively involved in over 70 acquisitions representing over $3 billion in volume. Mr. Kim joined FPA in 2018 as a Capital Markets Intern and later moved to roles of Capital Markets Analyst, Acquisitions Analyst and Senior Analyst, and Associate. Mr. Kim received his B.A in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Accounting and B.A in Economics, Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine.
Spencer Thomas is responsible for portfolio management and business plan oversight of FPA's Northeast portfolio. Prior to joining FPA, Mr. Thomas was an Advisor at CBRE, where he focused on the representation of owner's and lessees of office space in the Southern California market. Mr. Thomas graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in International Relations Global Business, with a minor in Marketing.
Laly Anguiano is responsible for supporting the firm's relationship management efforts with existing and prospective investors. She holds a BS in Business Administration with majors in Accounting and Hospitality Management from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Anguiano has experience in the public accounting industry at KPMG and worked with a variety of clients from private, pre-IPO and SEC registrants.
Jheranie Jackson is an experienced Campus Recruiter from Houston, TX. She currently serves as the Campus and Diversity Talent Partner, working to introduce eager students to the Real Estate Property Management Industry. She is passionate about emerging the next generation of leaders. Her focus is to connect great students with great opportunities and she is motivated by her ability to make an impact in the lives of hard-working and motivated students. Jheranie recieved her Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from The University of North Texas.
